Cashless mediclaim is the service in which an insured is able to get the hospitalization treatment free of cost. All the medical bills of hospitalization, up to the sum insured, are directly settled by an insurance company. Only the prior approval of TPA (Third-Party Administrator) is required in this process.
You need not have to run for the arrangement of funds at the time of emergency.
Cashless facility is subject to the conditions and terms in the policy.
The cashless mediclaim is of two types-
Planned claim - It is when an insured is aware of the hospitalization 2-3 days in advance.
Emergency - It is when an insured or his/her family member required immediate hospitalization, either due to grave illness or an accident.
Points to consider during cashless mediclaim-
Inform your TPA before admission to hospital or in emergency case, ask one of your family members to do so. | ||
Remember to have your ID card, as proof at the time of hospitalization | ||
Have necessary investigation and medical reports | ||
Provide complete information to your health insurer in a prescribed format. |
Apart from this, remember that admission to network hospitals is only availability of bed and the entire facility is subject to terms and conditions.

Emergency treatment at our Cashless Hospital | ||
Proceed to the admission with your health ID card | ||
Ask the hospital to fill up the claims cashless request form and submit it to the insurance help desk at the hospital. | ||
TPA / insurance company will issue an authorization letter for the coverage as per the policy to the hospital. | ||
We will settle the bill directly with the insurance company. | ||
If the treatment is not covered under your policy, a letter will be sent along with the reasons of rejection. |
